I am dismayed that a Blacksmith apprentice would be so foolish as to carve while holding the object in the hand, especially with a long chisel. Boss, I have just discovered your comic and have been devouring it, but no one who carves would hold the object like that. You don’t have any leverage. Chisels work better if they can move along a plane. Unless there are Plot Reasons for Elle to be doing this badly (she IS tired, so maybe isn’t making reasonable choices), I would beg you to consider redrawing that panel.
